Boutique paper goods designed and printed in Australia by Amanda Laing.
Hello and welcome to Paprly I am so glad you are here! If you like pretty patterns on paper you are in the right place.
A little bit of background to start. 'Designing' seems to be the common thread but the pathway to get here has been wide and varied. After studying to be an Art teacher I completed a degree in Built Environment and worked as a commercial Interior designer for over ten years. After leaving this industry to start a family I pursued a passion for craft which lead to designing jewellery and homewares inspired by vintage crafts and vintage floral fabrics under the name @NeekieNoo. Through this creative journey the doorway to surface pattern design was discovered with the MakeItInDesign school and bang it all seemed to click into place. Drawing and patterns were things I had always been interested in separately so to combine the two was a huge aha moment for me! I currently freelance design under the name @Mandalouau you can view my portfolio at www.mandalou.com.au.
Here at Paprly, designing patterns for paper goods as an original piece of artwork to give your gifts that added dimension of magic is my aim. First impressions can make such an impact and so can a beautifully wrapped gift in a hand selected piece of wrapping paper and card. I use high quality environmentally conscious paper at 115gsm weight so you could even use your piece of wrapping paper as a poster, for scrapbooking or any other paper crafts. All hand drawn art work and photographic images in the designs are by me.
The natural world are a constant source of inspiration and I am heavily influenced by the native flowers in my local area. At times I may also collaborate with my children whose creativity I find is an endless source of inspiration. However, I truly believe inspiration can be found everywhere and in anything, all you need to do is open your eyes and really 'look'!
I hope you enjoy browsing at Paprly this year I have been a busy bee and have expanded my range to include gift tags, greeting cards and art prints. Next up? stay tuned there is definitely more to come and perhaps not just printing on paper!
